I'm missing Ireland something awful recently. I haven't been back in a while, and I've been looking back through some of my old photos to recapture the feeling of wonder I have every time I'm there. Going to Ireland for me quickly becomes all about visiting family and friends and I sometimes forget that it's also an incredibly beautiful country where the light is always perfect and the vistas have the power to blow me away. The sky is so changeable - one moment the green and blue will overwhelm, and the next the grey skies descend and the clouds feel inches away from your face.In an effort to miss it a little less, I gathered a few of my shots from the last time I was there (it's been a few years, and I feel awful about that). Please excuse my soft shots - I didn't have my Nikon a few years ago.

Do you miss a place or its people? Can picture postcards moments kindle longing?
ReplyDeleteFor me it's how it makes me feel when I'm there. That feeling of longing goes away as soon as I land in the country.

My family is a bit scattered, spread from Cork to Westmeath, from Dublin to Galway. I always visit Tipperary, Westmeath, Galway, and Cork for sure.
